Summary

The consumer campaign for the German love toy brand “Satisfyer” was carried out in Germany, UK and France with a focus on lifestyle media and influencers.

The products are a series of pressure wave vibrators for women marketed under the “Satisfyer” brand. On the other hand, there are products for couples, so-called partner toys, which bear the name “Satisfyer partner”. The partner love toys stimulate both partners at the same time and thus ensure a varied and intensive love experience.

In UK and France we have worked as lead agency with our partner agencies Spider PR and WE Agency from the Public Relations Global Network.

Strategy

The challenge was that (even though we live in Western Europe) not all media are open to sex issues, especially sex toys and the even more intimate issue of masturbation. Therefore, the strategy for both product lines was to present the theme as “Sexual Wellness” in order to communicate and position it as a lifestyle trend via media and influencers. In addition, the agencies developed seasonal hooks for Easter, the summer season and Christmas in order to present the products as gift ideas.

Execution and creativity

In addition to classic measures such as media relations, media cooperations and media visits, all agencies organised a media or blogger event for their market.

Each agency produced localized press materials. In addition to product details, the messaging also contained general topics such as masturbation with love toys as a sexual wellness trend.

Media and influencer events took place in Hamburg, London and Paris.

The event concept “Beach Party” was developed in Hamburg. The event took place on the Elbe in a beach club with a trendy ambience. All 14 participating bloggers were very impressed by the location, the atmosphere and the products. The influencers already posted during the event in their social media channels. The highlight was our top guest Eve Champagne, who works for one of the biggest sex shops in Europe on the world famous Reeperbahn in Hamburg, the red light district. She sells sex toys there and knows exactly what she is talking about.

In London, the event took place at the exclusive member club 23 Paul Street, East London. Our agency partner organized a media & influencers event to present the Satisfyer products and link them to the sexual wellness trend. More than 20 participants accepted the invitation.

The event in Paris was also designed for influencers and journalists and was a great success. The open cocktail format directly at the Seine river allowed all guests to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. The guests found the presentation of the sexologist integrated into the event concept extremely inspiring.

Results

  • All 3 agencies ensured high reach in lifestyle media both print and online – including Cosmopolitan, Jolie and Men’s Health in Germany; Maire Claire, Cosmopolitan, stylist in Great Britain; Sensuelle, Prima, Sensuelle and Cosmopolitan in France. In addition, all agencies achieved great reach in the influencer and social media sector, primarily thanks to the excellently organized events.
