Wearable tech has become ingrained in today’s sports culture

FIBO, the world’s largest trade show for fitness, wellness and health, which was to be held in Cologne in April, was postponed until the second half of 2020 due to the spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. But this does not affect the trend towards fitness. According to the American College of Sports (ACSM), these are the trends for 2020:

  1. Wearables (fitness trackers, smart watches, HR monitors, GPS tracking devices)
  2. High intensity interval training (HIIT)
  3. Group training (from 5 participants)
  4. Training with free weights
  5. Personal training
  6. Training is medicine
  7. Training with the own body weight

  10. Employment of certified professionals
  11. Training for weight reduction
  12. Functional fitness training
  13. Outdoor activities
  14. Yoga
  15. Licensing for fitness professionals
  16. Lifestyle medicine
  17. Circuit training
  18. Workplace health promotion
  19. Use of measurement methods
  20. Children and exercise
