Finnair wins Euro Effie award for innovative marketing
Finnair has won a Silver Euro Effie award in recognition of its Local Heroes marketing campaigns in Germany and England. In Germany, Industrie-Contact (IC) is responsible for the Pierre Littbarski PR with media activities, travel agent event and blog activities. The campaigns, utilising local notable personalities and aimed at business travellers flying to Asia, far exceeded company targets and dramatically increased Finnair’s brand awareness and supported sales growth in two of its key growing European markets. Finnair is the first Finnish company to win an Effie.
In Germany, where local footballing legend Pierre ‘Litti’ Littbarski advocated for Finnair‘s quick, efficient and comfortable service to Asia, sales in business class also jumped well beyond expectations. In addition, brand awareness in relation to local competitors in both markets improved dramatically and significantly increased Finnair’s mindshare.
