Three experts introduced fruit from Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus to the German market
With the two campaigns „Get a Fruit“ and „Refresh Your Life“ the European Union promotes the enjoyment of European fruit. To mark the occasion, a culinary voyage of discovery with chef and TV chef Roberto Enßlen took place during the leading trade fair Fruit Logistica 2022 in Berlin, which was all about European fruit. Bonsai GmbH from Bremen, Industrie-Contact AG from Hamburg and the Greek representative of Lebensmittel Zeitung Stavros Tsouroukidis were responsible for the planning and implementation. On two exciting evenings, around 70 selected guests (manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, food retail representatives and trade journalists) were able to be convinced of the quality of the products live at the stove in Roberto Enßlen’s event cooking studio.
Roberto Enßlen created exciting menus based on original recipes from Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus, using fruits – mandoras (a cross between oranges and tangerines), peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums, cherries and apples – from the countries mentioned. Greek quality products such as Cretan extra virgin olive oil, feta and yogurt from Epiros and ouzo from Thrace as well as Cypriot halloumi were also used. Likewise, Enßlen developed exciting smoothies with the fruits.
Harmonious team: Bonsai, Industrie-Contact and Stavros Tsouroukidis
The organizer of the two events was Bonsai GmbH from Bremen. Founded in 2004 as a specialist for test markets, analytics, mystery and shopper research, the company has developed from a media test market expert to an experimentation platform for new ideas in close cooperation with retailers and manufacturers. Bonsai also offers start-up innovations and established companies sales support in food retailing and food services.
Bonsai received support from Industrie-Contact AG (IC) , a communications specialist from Hamburg. Customers included pistachios from California, olive oil and cheese specialties from Greece, Romanian organic delicacies, Bulgarian wines, ice cream from Great Britain and spirits from Germany. With its well-coordinated team of consultants, the agency can draw on extensive know-how in the field of food and nutritional science.
Last but not least, Lebensmittel Zeitung’s Greek representative, Stavros Tsouroukidis from Thessaloniki, participated in the events and moderated the two evenings. He also advices Greek and German companies in the food and beverage sector on their market activities in Greece and Germany. Stavros Tsouroukidis maintains a dense network of contacts in the food & beverage scene of both countries.
